Beville Family Plot July 7, 2003 Dear Kinfolk and Friends, Sadly I must report that when we made plans to go to the Family Plot in Center Hill for the annual clean-up shortly after the reunion, we were informed that one of the bad storms that very weekend had broken off large sections of the big old oak trees that shade the plot. Thankfully, there has not been any damage to the monuments or the cement block fence. But, as you can see in the pictures, it will be a delicate procedure to successfully remove the branches. The Cemetery Fund has $300 remaining from past contributions plus an additional $100 from this year. While we do not have to pay for the clean-up, we feel an obligation to make a decent contribution towards the extra expense for the extra care that must be taken to preserve the cemetery. Back in the 1950’s, T. Sol Beville and Herman Beville thought it was important to maintain the grave sites when they built the cement block fence to keep cattle out. Hopefully you continue to feel the same. We would appreciate any additional contribution you might be able to make towards this unexpected project. With your help, the cemetery will remain another 100 years or more for our grandchildren’s grandchildren. Please make checks payable to Mary Greer and mail to 848 County Road 457, Lake Panasoffkee, Fl 33538. If you can’t contribute at the moment but would like to make a pledge for a future date, please feel free to do so. Just drop a note with the amount and date you wish to pay. I’ll be glad to send you a reminder. No amount is too small. The clean-up will be documented and reported on at the next reunion. I will make a keepsake presentation as a token of appreciation for each who contributes. Thank you in advance for your generosity. Sincerely, Mary Greer and Liz Sumner P.S. The next edition of the Beville Chronicles will be out soon with the announcement of next year’s reunion. I hope to have some exciting news about a cousin’s visit to St. Michael’s Church. - ls
