I am researching the Summers family which includes the following related families: Tucker/Paschall, Howell/Townsend, Summers/Daniels and Summers/Zimmerman. The research is for an attachment to my family heritage files that give an accounting of our family surname change from Tucker to Summers. My father was named Jessie Carl Tucker at his birth to Newman Wallace Tucker and Margaret Jane Paschall who were divorced when my father was about age ten. Margaret then married Elza Summers who, without any record of adoption, told my father that his last name was now "Summers". My father did not know any different and continued with "Summers" as his legal name for the rest of his life thus the beginning of this Summers family line. |
