I am looking for any information about Patrick Surratt born1805-1807 Surry County, NC. Moved to Virginia around 1810,Grayson/Carroll Counties, Carroll was formed from Grayson in1850, Patrick died Carroll in 1854. I am also looking for information on Elisha Surratt,(also known as the duke}.The Duke of Mont Sarrette,{this is a title not a name}, came to America with Lafayette, and fought in the American Revolution then returned to France. After the French Revolution brokeout, returned to America, 1799 South Carolina, be came known as Elisha Surratt, married Jane Jenkins. I think that Patrick is Elisha's son, but have not been able to prove this. I spent time at the Library of Congress, trying to find the names of all persons comming over with Lafayette. I was unable to come any information that would help. Anyone with any info on this subject, would like to hear from you. |
