I am researching the Sutton family from Bilston, Staffordshire, UK. John Sutton first appears in the 1901 census, as a coal miner, he was born on the 30th April 1861 in Chapel-en-le-Frith, Derby. He married Caroline Howell about 1888 and they had at least four daughters: Annie, Mary J, Rebecca, Dora and two sons: William J, John, there were possibly ten children in all, which were fostered out when the parents died. I have been led to believe that a doctor and his wife adopted Rebecca and they immigrated to Australia. In addition, I'm researching for his father a Marshall Sutton and his wife Ellen Duckit; in 1861 they lived at Ridge Close, Peak Forest, Derby. Any information would be appreciated.
