Dorothy Jane Gaston, 85, of Punxsutawney, passed away Friday, April 13, 2007, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney. A religious service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with Pastor Butch White officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery in Rossiter.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Punxsutawney Area Hospital or the American Cancer Society.

Aaron Max Gaston Sr 80 of Rossiter, died Tuesday, Apr 4 2000, at the Punxsutawney Hospital.
The son of Aaron and Minta Seger Gaston, he was born Arpil 27, 1919, in Canoe Township.He was a member of the Union Church in Rossiter, of which he was an Elder for many years.
Mr Gaston is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dororthy Jane Tyger, whom he married Oct 31, 1943; two sons, Aaron Max Gaston Jr and his wife Linda of NuMine; Dr. Rick Dee Gaston of Malden, Mass; two daughters, Judy Stewart and her husband Willard, of Huntingdon; and Shirley McGee and her husband Robert ofRossiter; two brothers; Don Gaston and his wife Clara of Virginia; and Jack Gaston and his wife Patti, of Punxsutawney; and six sisters:Alberta Hawk of Chicora; Ruby Craft of New Brighton; Anna Belle Ayers of Baden; Hilda Mae Gaston of Rossiter; Shirley Cassiday of Ebensburg and Joyce Carden of Johnstown; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and several neices and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Don Gaston and Lex Gaston and one sister Bernell Gaston.
Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney with Pastor George C White officiating.Interment will be in the Union Cemetery in Rossiter.

Bernice L Fletcher, 74, of Claghorn Road, Homer City, died Friday Jan 15, 1999, at the Indiana Hospital.
A daughter of Clair and Faye Miller Tyger, she was born Aug 8, 1924, in Rochester Mills.
She attended the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, Homer City.
Surviving are her husband, Earl Fletcher, Homer City; a son John Fletcher and his wife, Gloria, Homer City; a daughter, Pamela Buterbaugh and her husband, John, Homer City; a son-in-law, Barry Brown, Homer City; eight grandchildren; a sister, Louis Kishlock, andher husband, John, Waterman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Earlene Brown; a brother Clarence Tyger and a sister Allene Strong.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the C. Frederick Bowser Funeral Home, Homer City, where services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. R A Wallace officiating.Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Indiana.

Max Tyger Sr.
Max O. Tyger, Sr., 69, of 155 Summer St. died at 6:05 a.m. Friday in the Bradford Hospital where he had been admitted Monday.
He was born Jan. 8, 1915, in Rochester Mills, a son of the late Carl and Luella Barrett Tyger.
On Oct. 28, 1968, in Bradford, he married Phyllis George, who survives.
Mr. Tyger was a foreman for the Witco Chemical Corp., retiring in 1981.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Dads of Veterans and the Bradford Moose Lodge.
Surviving besides his wife are seven daughters, Mrs. Marlene Woodin, Mrs. Susan Watkins, Mrs. Reba Maben and Mrs. Sherry Holes, all of Bradford, Mrs. Darlene Mohr of Salamanca, NY, Mrs. Beverly Lauer of Buffalo, N.Y. and Miss Bonnie Tyger of Jamestown, N.Y. ; four sons, Max Tyger Jr. and Richard Tyger, both of Bradford, Dennis Tyger of Jamestown, and Robert Tyger Sr. of Rew; 44 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Simons of Bradford and Mrs. Mildred Barnes of Big Shanty; one brother, Francis Tyger of Bradford; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received starting at 7 p.m. today at the Hollenbeck Funeral Chapel where a funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday with Dr. James D. Mowrey, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Willow Dale Cemetery.
Phyllis Cunningham must have been his second wife since son Max was born 1944.

Phyllis Tyger
Phyllis A. George Tyger, 77, of 142 Barbour St. died Tuesday in Bradford Regional Medical Center.
She was born Nov. 30, 1918, in Kane, a daughter of Emanual and Reba Clawges Cunningham. On Jan. 11, 1936, in Bradford, she married John George who died July 1, 1964. On Oct. 28, 1969, in Bradford, she married Max O. Tyger Sr. who died Feb. 17, 1984.
Mrs. Tyger attended Kane schools including Kane High School. She was a private duty licensed practical nurse and worked in the Bradford Area. She was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons. In the 1950s and 1960s she owned and operated George's Restaurant with her first husband.
She is survived by six daughters, Reba Y. Maben and Sherry Dennis, both of Bradford, Marlene A. Woodin and Darlene A. Mohr, both of Salamanca, NY, Susan D. Watkins of Randolph, NY and Bonnie K. Roos of Jamestown, NY; four sons, Robert J. Tyger, Richard F. Tyger and Max O. Tyger Jr., all of Bradford, and Dennis Tyger of Jamestown, NY; 44 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two brothers, William Cunningham of Joshua Tree, Calif., and Basil Cunningham of Riverside, Calif; three sisters, Aryth Moser and LaVerta Rose, both of Ocala, Calif., and Virginia WHipple in Oregon; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husbands and her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly "Punkin" Lauer, who died Dec. 18, 1990.
Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm Thursday at the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, South Avenue, where funeral and committal services will be held at 11 am Friday with the Rev. W. LeRoy Beckes, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Bradford, officating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery.
