- Melissa Mahan family (20 KB)
Melissa married A.J. Dalton and also had several children. Is this A.J., or one of her brothers? If a brother, where is A.J.?
- John Riley Parker Family (20 KB)
This picture was taken around 1917 in front of the Parker house, which still stands today. It is located on Hwy 70 just outside Hot Springs Arkansas, in Hempwallace.
- Henry Sampson Parker and Family (84 KB)
I think I've figured out that this is Henry Sampson Parker, with wife Ruth Belle Roach, and children as follows: Robert Pearson, John Burl, Henry Sampson, Louella, and William Arch. This should have been taken around 1905.
- Elvira Mahan and Kids, around 1904 (30 KB)
Oda Parker, Ada Parker, and their mother Elvira Mahan-Parker
- John Riley Parker and Mahan Sisters (22 KB)
On the left are Elvira and John Riley Parker.
On the right, I'm not sure. I think now that the man is James Madison Parker (recently widowed), and the woman is either Melissa Mahan-Dalton, or perhaps James Madison's mother-in-law, mother of Mary E. Roach. I also think that Elvira is in the last stages of pregnancy with Oda, because in all of her other pictures she is really small. If so, this picture would have to been taken around June of 1897.
- John R Parker and Elvira Children, around 1909 (58 KB)
Standing: My great uncle Oda Parker and my great aunt Ada Parker, both of which never married or had children.
Sitting: My grandmother Eva Parker-Sutton,and my great uncle Leather Parker, who also never married or had children.
- Mahan Sisters (23 KB)
Standing: Laura and Melissa. Sitting: Elvira and Marilla.
- John Thomas Boyd and family (14 KB)
Marilla Mahan married John Thomas Boyd and their children were: Joseph Andrew, David D, Bertie, Goldie Mae, Minnie H, and Wilie S. I think that Bertie is married and not in this picture, and that Joseph Andrew has been widowed and the youngest three girls are his daughters. That would date this picture around 1910.
- Laura Mahan family (22 KB)
Laura married Newit Pittman. I think this picture includes her oldest son with his wife and child.
- Unknown #1 (32 KB)
Could this be Henry Mahan and his first family? The number of girls and their ages seem to coincide with the Mahan sisters, but there aren't enough boys. Could they be in the fields working?
