The 1881 census for Birmingham, (St. Thomas's ward) shows that the Emson family were living at 22 Bow Street, Edgbaston, Birmingham, England. George was stated to be a 'brassfounder'. From the report in the LDS IGI it appears that George and Emma did not marry until just before their second son James was born.
