William Haynes Ashbarry (son of Julia Caroline Ashbarry) was born October 5, 1857 in 72 Nelson St., Edgbaston, Birmingham, and died date unknown in ?.
Notes for William Haynes Ashbarry: William was the result of a seduction by Julia's employer, Colonel Haynes when she was only 16. I have been told that the Colonel supported Julia and her son until such time as she married Donald Sutherland. When William married in the late 1800s his father paid for the wedding and also paid the newly-wed couple's fare to Australia. They are supposed to have become quite well known in the field of opera, but as yet I know nothing more of them. Donald obviously accepted William, because in the 1881 census for St. Thomas's Ward he is described as sson (stepson) and a stone mason.
