84. "The State (Columbia)," Dillon - Services for Effie Jean Cope Jackson, 71, will be held at 4:00 p.m. today at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Ms. Jackson died Tuesday. Born in Marlboro County, she was the daughter of the late Sidney Kissler Cope and Effie Jane Kirby Cope. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church and was a merchant. Surviving are here daughters, Barbara Jackson Minshew and Linda Jackson Skipper both of Dillon. Sidney Young Jackson of Rowland, N.C. seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Born in Marlboro County she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Mamie Cope Freeman, and was a member of Aynor Methodist Church. Mrs. Jones was predeceased by her husband, Vol Toby Jones, Jr. and a daughter, Paula Marie Jones Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Sandy Plain Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Jones is survived by three sons, Larry Jones of Orange Park, Fl, Charles Jones of Conway and Wesley Jones of Galivants Ferry; two brothers Charles Freeman of Las Cruces, NM and Paul Freeman of Goose Creek; two sisters Mary Carter of Hartsville and Gail Baker of Goose Creek and four grandchildren.
