My family Research is predominately that of the SWAIN family from the earliest record found in Offley Hertfordshire in 1655 and then throgh the village of Weston in Hertfordshire from approx 1708 until 1840 when my branch of the SWAIN family moved to Ponders End in Middlesex. We suspect this was in search of work in the new industies that were being developed in this area. Prior to this time the family were either Blacksmith's or Agricultural workers. My branch subsubsequently moved further south to Tottenham in approx the 1870's where much of the family lived until the 1960's. As with most modern families their family members have since dispersed to many parts of the globe.
