The Samuel Chapman FamilyUpdated September 5, 2000 |
|
| Welcome to the Samuel Chapman Family Page. Samuel and his wife, Sarah Smeed, immigrated from England in 1832. Twelve children were born to them. The eldest daughter married William D. Crawford, producing a branch of the tree with 15 more children. Both the Chapmans and William Crawford's famly were early residents of Des Moines County, Iowa, arriving in 1843 and 1837 respectively. I would be pleased to share information, as well as several stories and obituaries that played a critical role in searching these families' trees. |
