I am mainly researching the OWEN family. Robert Owen, J. P. Attorney at law of Dolserau, near Dolgelley, North Wales came over first. He was one of the governors of Beaumaris at one time, later he was imprisoned for five years for being a Quaker. After he was released he imigrated to America in the ship "Vane" of Liverpool, arriving at Philadelphia on September 17, 1684 and settled on Duck Creek in New Castle County, Delaware. He was a great-grandson of Baron Lewis Owen, Vice Chamberlain of North Wales, and was supposed to have been born about 1612.
Robert Owen married Jane Vaughn, daughter of the celebrated antiquarian, Robert Vaughn, whose mother, Margaret was a daughter of Edward Owen of Hengwrt, one of the sons of Baron Lewis Owen.
