I am pursuing the geneology of several families; 1) Carl Christian (Swanson) Svendsen, b. 12-19-1872. He emmigrated from Denmark to the US and was part of the Company G, First Infantry, California US Volunteers during the Spanish-American war in the Phillipines in 1898. 2)Ole Svendson (Swanson), b. 4-22-1848. He emmigrated from Norway to Minnesota and was a member of the Co.B.5th Regiment Volunteer Infantry between 3-2-1862 and 9-6-1865. 3)George Walter Oprea, b. 6-25-1891 who emmigrated from Romania to Chicago 4) Enos T Hotchkiss, b. 3-13-1915, founder of Hotchkiss and Lake City, Colorado.	*The Swansons of Washington & the Opreas of Texas* Updated September 5, 2000
