Notes for Charles Donald Redmon: This information came from REDMON a book researched and sold at family reunions by Evelyn Redmon-Davis
Granny always talked about her father as "Charley". He ran/worked in a sawmill and they lived in a logging settlement called "Smokemont". This is located on or near the Cherokee Indian Reservation in Western NC. Charley is burried in the Clark-Whittier (old) cemetary. There is a picture of his grave and stone attached. The Redmon decendants collected money at family reunions in order to purchase the stone, Harold Stines was in charge of this project.
