Charles Donald Redmon (son of James Patton Redmon and Martha Ann Hughes) was born February 5, 1876 in Buncombe Co, NC, and died March 12, 1956. He married Lou Ellen King, daughter of Harley Bascomb King and Martha Malinda Katherine Redmon.

Granny always talked about her father as "Charley". He ran/worked in a sawmill and they lived in a
logging settlement called "Smokemont". This is located on or near the Cherokee Indian Reservation in Western NC. Charley is burried in the Clark-Whittier (old) cemetary. There is a picture of his grave and stone attached. The Redmon decendants collected money at family reunions in order to purchase the stone, Harold Stines was in charge of this project.
