* Swaback's Family Home Page*

Updated January 20, 2007

I am researching the SWABACK(SALVESEN)/HALLBOM family history.On the Swaback side, it seems there were two brothers, perhaps more, who came to the United States from Norway in the early 1890's and settled in the Chicago area.
Their names were Syvert and Severin Kornelius Salvesen before they changed their names.
I would love to exchange information with anyone who has more knowledge on Norweigan genealogy research. Severin married Grethe Karlsen in May of 1892 and Syvert married Nellie Ericksen at an unknown time.

On the Hallbom side, I am looking for any information on a cargo ship named the Daisy which said out of Risor, Norway. The ship's captain was Andrew Peter Hallbom. His first mate was a son-in-law and his second mate was his son, Peter Hallbom.
The Daisy went down in the Bermuda Triangle in the late 1800's with the captain and his first mate. Peter Hallbom stayed home that fateful journey. He emigrated to the United States sometime before 1903. He met and married Alma Theresia Hansen.
