2. SAMUEL III² PICKERING (SAMUEL II¹) was born February 05, 1757 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and died August 24, 1811 in Belmont County, Ohio. He married PHOEBE LIKINS November 14, 1782 in Hopewell MM, Fredricks County, Virginia. She was born 1761 in Virginia, and died Unknown in Indiana.

Samuel and Phoebe moved to Indiana, White Water Monthly Meeting in 1822, from Belmont County, Ohio.

Phoebe joined the Quakers on July 1, 1782 at Hopewell Monthly Meeting. On February 3, 1783, Phoebe and Samuel Transferred to Crooked Run Monthly Meeting, also in Fredricks County, Virginia. They transferred to Concord Monthly Meeting in Belmont County, Ohio, (Northwest Territory) on October 2, 1802. On September 26, 1823, Phoebe transferred from Flushing Monthly Meeting in Belmont County, Ohio, to Whitewater Monthly Meeting, Wayne County, Indiana. Her sons Jonas and Samuel and their families also transferred to Whitewater MM at about the same time. Phoebe probably died between 1830 and 1840 in Henry County, Indiana.
