GOLD WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATED F.H. Heydenrich Resident Here Since 1877 CAME TO PASADENA ON HONEYMOON Brought Bride to City From East in '80
Having lived here ever since their marriage in 1880, Mr. and Mrs. F.H. Heydenrich of 255 Grant Street today are of the opinion that there is no nicer place in the world in which to observe their golden wedding anniversary than Pasadena. Modest and unassuming, they would prefer to have "the great day" slip by without any fuss being made, but friends in the Pioneer Association who have known the couple for so many years got wind of it, and according to the Heydenrich's telephone has been ringing frequently for the past two days. Mr. Heydenrich first came to Pasadena in 1877 from New York City and he was so enamored with the scenery and climate that he returned to New York, married Miss Clara Badenhausen and returned with her to the coast. Until recent years he took an active part of the civic life of the community and is believed to have organized the first orange packing house in Pasadena. He was associated with the old Pasadena water company and was for thirty years a member of the William R. Straats Company, now the William Wilson Company. He is still one of the directors, in fact. Mr. and Mrs. Heydenrich have three children, F.W. Heydenrich of South Pasadena, Mrs. J.G. Swain of Whittier and Mrs. P.E. Cartzdafner of Pasadena, and seven grandchildren. With the exception of a family dinner party, the anniversary is being observed very quietly by the couple.
