I am researching anyone named Canum, especially from the area of Whittlesey, England before 1860 and Southern Illinois from 1830 on. Especially Thomas Canum; came from England in mid-century. Married to Sarah Hall. Had four sons who settled in the area around Aledo, Illinois. Their names were William, Thomas, Mark, and John. Mark and John served in the Union Army in the Civil War. Joseph Howard Canum married Rachel Parks around 1890 In Aledo, Illinois. Rachel was the descendant of Russell Parks born in 1776 and John Hopkins Parks born in 1803.

Also researching the family of Martin Doerksen, born in Europe in 1802; migrated to Molotschna Colony in Ukraine, probably from Holland. Died 1856. Son Martin Doerksen migrated with his family to the area near Inman, Kansas in 1874. His descendant Anna Doerksen born 1883 in Kansas married Gerhard Thiessen a descendant of Thiessens who also came from Ukraine. Also related to this family is Johann Harder born in 1800 and John Wienz both probably from South Russia (Ukraine)
