MIZELL, MIZELLE, MEASELS, MOSELLE are all spelling variations of the family name. They originated in the Alaisance Lorraine region of France. There is a Moselle River (pronounced M "uh" zell) there for which they are named. I am looking for the Branch of the family that settled in Mississippi via Virginia, North Carolina, and Alabama.
I am, also, looking for information about the PORTER family in and around Escatawpa, Mississippi. I only have a few leads to this part of my family and any help in making the appropriate connects would be greately appreciated. I do know that Annnie Porter's mother's maiden name was Henrietta WILLIAMS. Henrietta's family is in the 1860 Jackson County, MS census. Her parents were C.F. Williams/married to Eliz(abeth?). C.F. was from Louisianna.
