Nigel A Swanson of Sydney, Australia

So far I have managed to do quite a bit of research on the Swanson family tree however I have been stuck on acquiring information in relation to John Swanson who I know came out to Melbourne Australia on the Thomas Hamlin (aged 31) around the 31/01/1854. Unfortunately I have been unable to find out any further information prior to that date. Further information indicates that John was an Upholster.

I know that he was born in England around 1830 & was married to Margaret Stewart on the 2nd August 1853 in Scotland. If anyone could help with further information on his birth in England & when he died & where in Australia I believe this would assist greatly in discovering the journey of my ancestors.

I am the 3rd Great-Grandson of John Swanson & would appreciate any information on his life in England before migrating to Australia in 1854. If anyone has any information relating to his family life in England ie: whether or not he had any brothers or sisters it would greatly assist in my research as I am also lead to believe that the Swanson name originated from Sweden (swenson) & then the migration commenced to England & then on to Australia.
