Notes for James Woodward:
James Woodward was a soldier in the French and Indian Wars
(1745-1759-60). He still lived at the late Simpson place in 1769 at
which time, he was one mile, one quarter, one rod from the First
Parish (now Wakfield), Reading meetinghouse. In 1771, he was on the
list of voters of First Parish. He is listed on the Massachusetts Tax
Valuation List of 1771 in Reading (Town 0333, Individual 0804). He
was a farmer and called a yeoman in the probate records.
