SHEPPARD/SHEPARD GRAVEYARD

Surveyed 19 Feb 2000 by Chris Swinson & Kathy Jo West

Located at 546 Haws Run Rd. (SR 1105) in Onslow County, near Verona, approximately 5 miles from Hwy 53 near Southwest.  The cemetery lies beside a huge building used to store tires by the owner of Silance's Tire Service.  A double-wide trailer is in front of the building and a white two story house stands next door.

The cemetery appears to contain only the graves of the family of Lamuel Hardison and Rebecca A. E. Screws Williams; however, there is one James grave, two Silance graves, and five graves marked by cinderblocks.  Depressions in the center of the cemetery may indicate the presence of graves with no markers at all.
