So,far, we have traced our Sylcox family line to Wilkes County, N.C. in 1803. Andrew Silcock was born then and we suspect Frances Silcock to be his mother, and John Coots to be his Father. John was hung as a horse theft around 1810. Frances then went back to live with her Father William. That is how the story go'es, but, we have no evidence. Other names include Ladd, Newell, Cox, and Sample.
