Stieler, Boroff, White, Chambers Family Genealogy Home Page

I am researching the Stieler/Boroff on my parternal side and Chambers/White on my maternal side of the family. The last name of Stieler has had a couple of additional variations including Steiler (probably a misspelling that stuck) and prior to the Holocaust, Stiegler. (I have old family photos from 1914 & 1921 with this spelling.)

It is my understanding that Henry and Anna Stieler came over from Germany sometime prior to 1895. However, I'm unsure if they were married in Germany or met and married after coming to the United States. It appears that the Stieler clan settled in California and that Henry had once owned a German Biergarten in Los Angeles. As for the Boroff side, they resided in Illinois, Kansas, Iowa and finally California. Most stayed in the Los Angeles area, but some lived in the San Francisco and Tulare area as well.

The Chambers side of my family appears to have migrated from Alabama to Arkansas and Oklahoma. Some remained in Oklahoma, while others resided in Texas and California.

The White family seems to remained in Oklahoma with a few moving to Texas and Arkansas.
