I am researching the STOWERS family.My 1st grandfather was Peter Elmer Stowers b. Nov. 1905 d. Dec. 18, 1972. He was born & died in Sweetland, Lincoln County, West Virginia. He married Lula Bell Nicholas.My 2nd grandfather was George Washington Stowers "Red" b. Sept. 8. 1860 in Bland County, Virginia d. Oct. 26, 1938 Sweetland, Lincoln County, West Virginia. He married Charlotte Lawson.My 3rd grandfather was Rufus Jan Stowers. He married Sarah Elizabeth Lambert.My 4th grandfather was William Larkin Stowers b. 1786 d. Dec. 9, 1858. He was born & died in Tazewell County, Virginia. He married Polly Tracy, Mary Blankenship, Nancy Lambert & Rebecca Lambert.My 5th grandfather was William Stowers b. 1736 in Richmond County, Virginia. He married Amelia Russell, Dilila Jackson & Mary Jane Sims.My 6th grandfather was John Stowers, Jr. b. April 3, 1708 in Richmond County, Virginia d. 1751 in Westmorland County, Virginia. He married Mary Minor.My 7th grandfather was John Stowers, Sr. b. Abt. 1680 in Salisbury, Westmorland County, Virginia d. Jan 8, 1748/49. He married Sarah Chamberlan, Mary Blanchard, & Frances ____.My 8th grandfather was Joseph Stowers b. Feb. 21, 1631/32 in Charleston, Middlesex County, Massachusetts d. Nov. 16, 1671. He married Mary Blaisdell.My 9th grandfather was Nicholas Stowers b. 1600 in Upway Parrish, Doretshire, England d. May 16, 1646 in Malden, Massachusetts. He married Mary James.My 10th grandfather was Walter Stowers b. Abt. 1565 in West Doretshire, England. I haven't been able to find out who he married. But, other than Nicholas, I know he had a daughter named Deborah. I have not been able to find out any more information past Walter Stowers. Any one with any information on Walter or any of the people from the STOWERS family would be greatly appreciated.
