She was born Abt. 1816, and died July 1892 in Appomattox County, Virginia.

Notes for Joseph Monroe 'Monroe' Moses:
1) There is conflicting information which gives his year of death as 1879 and says that he was 65 years old at the time of his death, which would give a birth year closer to 1814.

Notes for Paulina J. Martin:
1) There is conflicting information which gives her name as Paulina J. Martin and her date of death as July 10, 1858.

2) From FHL Film #2056972, Virginia Death Registers, 1853-1912, Item 3, Appomattox County:

2) 1860 Census Index for Appomattox County, VA:

3) 1860 census for Virginia, Appomattox County, Post Office Hebron, Page No. 63 (page number 489 written to right-hand side), enumerated August 18, 1860 (Image 63 of 110 at Ancestry.com):

Notes for Mary W. ???:
1) Joseph's 2nd wife, Mary W. ??? Moses, appears to have had a sister named Catherine A. ???. Mary is found in the home of Catherine and her husband, Thomas Davenport, in the 1880 census.

Marriage Notes for Joseph Moses and Mary ???:
1) 1870 Census Index:

Moses, Minroe, Southside TWP, p. 50
Moses, Mary W., Southside TWP, p. 50 --> Mary Woodson Moses, wife of Charles Thomas Moses, daughter-in-law of Joseph Monroe Moses ?? Or perhaps Mary W. Moses is the 2nd wife of Joseph Monroe Moses; Paulina died in 1866.

2) 1870 Census, State of Virginia, County of Appomattox, Southside Township, Post Office = Pamplin's Depot, Page No. 4 (handwritten), corresponds to page 50-B, enumerated September 2nd, 1870 (Image 100 of 228 at Ancestry.com):

Visit Number 30 --

_____, Mary W. age 54, F, W, Keeping house, born in Virginia

_____, Nannie J., age 18, F, W, At home, born in Virginia
_____, Nathan E., age 17, M, W, Farm laborer, born in Virginia

[Note 1: I had thought, before I saw this data, that perhaps Mary W. Moses was in fact Mary (Woodson) Moses, who was the daughter-in-law of Joseph Monroe Moses. But now seeing that Joseph Monroe Moses and the Mary W. Moses listed with him are nearly the same age, I have come to a different conclusion. I now believe that the Mary W. Moses listed above might be a 2nd spouse for Joseph; his wife Paulina died in 1860, so Joseph would have had ample time to remarry prior to the 1870 census.]

Children of Joseph Moses and Paulina Martin are:
