I am researching the TAGGART and POWELL families.I have traced the TAGGART's back to southwestern Missouri at the turn of the century and have run into a blank wall with my great-grandfather, John F. Taggart, who was a tent and awning maker.He was born about 1879, died in 1964, and was married to Orlena Anna Foote (who died) and later to Winifred Fannon (Ortner).I have no idea as to where he was born or who his parents were.
I am also researching the POWELL family.I have so far traced my POWELL lineage back to Peter O'Neil Powell in the early 1800's in north-central Arkansas in the vicinity of Shirley.However, the weak link in this chain is the lack of verifiable information about my great-grandfather Louis Jackson Powell (ca. 1859-1915), who lived in Van Buren County, AR, and was married to Nancy Louvisa Merreman.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.I am also willing to share any information I have acquired so far in my search.
