Hopefully we will find some information on our Danish Ancestry. I have been searching for 2 years without much luck. Most of my information is on my family after they came to Canada, Vancouver BC around 1880 - 1890
Jens Peter Peterson bDenmark 1831 d Vancouver,BC,Canada 1896
married Margrethe Laurenzen ?? probably in Denmark. They had 4 children
1) Peter Peterson - we believe worked for Boy Scouts in Everett, Wash and think his wife's name was Mary, probably died in Everett around 1950? (no children) He had 2 dogs.
2) My grandfather, Louis Peterson b 1868 in Copenhagen;
d 1946 in Vancouver married Laura Nelson in Van. (bDenmark)
d1897 Vancouver in childbirth.
son Laurie b1897 Vancouver m Marie Eliga Rose in England
Louis's 2nd marriage, my grandmother- Anna Helbostad (Norway)married in Vancouver 1900
Children - Jensine Margrethe(my mother) & Andrew Martinus Peterson. Both born in Vancouver. Jensine died in Vancouver & Andrew died Olympia Washington
3) Anna Peterson b1870 in Veile County Jyland -d1940 Vancouver married Thorsen & Tiffin in Vancouver
Children- Jens Peter Axel Thorsen, Irene Margaret Thorsen, Charles Arthur Thorsen - all b & d Vancouver
4) Elen Peterson b1865 Denmark -d Vancouver 1945 married August Bjerre in Van.
Children - Ellen Margreta Bjerre bVancouver married Francis Douglas Lewis bTexas & married in Vancouver. Charles Jorgan Hansen Bjerre b Vancouver m Laura May Whitehouse
Our family may have immigrated to Omaha, Nebraska but I cannot locate the ship, etc. We have many old photos developed in Omaha.
Louis worked for the BC Electric as motorman in Vancouver for 30 years,
Bjerre died on board ship in Hecate Straits (B.C.)
Thorsen was a brewer in Vancouver.
