      [My interpretation of this is that these "drafted men" were on duty at Ft. Ingersol in Stewart County, therefore the signers of this letter were probably a company from Marion County.]

      To his Excellency the Governor of the State of Georgia Most Excellent Sir We the undersigned, the drafted men from the County of Marion and State aforesaid your most humble constituents and petitioners do most sincerily pray of you to take into consideration, the dangerous situation of our friends and relations, whom we have left behind, they their homes and property being exposed to an Indian population living among them in our County protected by some of the White people thereof.
      We therefore earnestly hope your excellency will extend such relief to our wifes, children and fellow citizen of said County as to you shall seem most proper and just. We select and appoint William Newsom our fellow soldier to bear this petition and acquaint you with the nature of our fears and apprehensions respecting the aforesaid Indians living in our County.

      Taylor County. To all and singular the Constallis. Greeting, you are hereby commanded to levy on lot of land number 146 in the 12th Dist. once Muscogee now Taylor and by District and state thereof make the sum of Twenty one and from the sixth day of Dec. 1845 Interest which was adjudged against William A. Davis and Wesley M. Pasters at a Justice Court held in and for the 767 District Georgia Militia on the first Saturday in September 1853 in favor of GIDEON SMITH Admix. of Newsom Taunton and for the further sum of $2.50 for the Cost thereon and have you the said sum of money together with this writ on or before the first Saturday in October next to re____ in satisfaction of said Debt and cost hereof fail not. Given under my hand in office this 10th day of September 1853, John Sturdivant, J.P.
      I have levied this fi fa on lot of land number 146 in the 12th Dist. this 24th September 1853. John A. Hamilton, Constable.
      Sold the above lands for fifty dollars January 1854. John A. Hamilton, Sheriff.

      Whereas in obedience to the writ of fieri facias issued of the Justice Court of county of Taylor at the write of GIDEON SMITH Administrator of Newsom Taunton deceased, I, John M. Thompson, Sheriff of Taylor County, did lately seize the land herein after described as the property of the said William A. Davis and Wesley M. Pasters ___ and after being advertised agreeable to law did on the third day of January 1854 at the place of public sale, when John Sturdivant being the highest bidder the same was knocked off to him -- $50. Land number 146 in the 12th Dist. Witnesses: D.W. Miller, Isaac Mulkey. Recorded Feb. 1, 1854.
