Notes for Aven Taylor: [Cranford-Pifer.FTW]
I dont remeber a lot about my grandpa. I do remember that he always set in a recliner in the front room. He spoked Prince Albert in a can. He always wore stripe shirts, white with red stripes is what I remember. He would get up early and eat breakfest at the kitchen table that my grandma always got up and cooked. He played a green gunitar at his church. The church was just down the street. I was told that he bult it. It had green siding, and red carpet. When you walked in the ladies room was on the left, mens on the right. We had an old rusty water fountain. The carpet was red through out the building. It had 2 Sunday school rooms in the back. The latter tore the wall down and made one big one, but not when my grandpa was a live. They had the strangest benches in them. Picture movie theater chairs, conectend togather, no cushion and painted brown. We used the standard Maroon Song book. I can remember my favorite song. Page 212, Keep on the firing line. I dont rember my grandpa preaching, but I do remember him sitting on the left hand side of the stage playing his music. He always gave me gum. I remember I wanted to wear shorts to church one time, he was totally againest that but my mom and grandma won out. The church had 2 window ac units. it had a stage were we all gathered to sing songs. We also had a penny march. We would sing a song like dropin dropin, hear those pennys fall, everyone for jesus he will use them all. This was not our offering but for the kids to give. They used the money to buy the best fruit bags money could buy for the neighborhood for Christmas. Heck we would have maybe 50 people on a busy sunday, but come christmas we would hand out at least 100 fruit bags. Ok, so I cant think of hole lot, about my grandpa I was young. I do remember him chasing my dad through the ditch with a pole. Something about a truck, and unlce Jody. I do remember that as long as he was alive we always went to their house for Thanksgiving. Us and every other one of his children, except uncle Jimmy, he was kind of always on his on. Of course I could talk days about those dinners. And that house.
