Below the following text you will see Taylor family photos, letters and files: ************************************************************** I am researching the descendants and ancestors of my 3rd great grandfather TEKIL TAYLOR (also possibly spelled: Tekle, Tekil, Teakle, Teakel, Tikel etc)who moved from North Carolina to Horry County South Carolina and then to Marion/Macon County Georgia prior to 1827. Tekil's son was named WILLIAM TAYLOR (b. N.C. abt 1786) who married NANCY PAGE (b. N.C.or S.C. abt 1786-the daughter of Isaiah Page/Dycie Miller). William and Nancy Taylor's children were mostly raised in Marion/Macon County Georgia. William Taylor's son was WILLIAM T. TAYLOR (1827-1880) who married TABITHA MCNAUGHTON (1835-1914) . William T. Taylor and his wife Tabitha moved to Montgomery (Winn/Grant Parish), Louisiana about 1859. William T. Taylor's daughter MARY TAYLOR along with her husband ENOCH JACKSON BARFIELD [son of Jesse and Senith (Taylor) Barfield and a Civil War Veteran of the Georgia 27th "Taylor Guards" Confederate Regiment] joined Mary Taylor's father William T. Taylor at Grant Parish Louisiana about 1869. In addition I'm researching ancestors and descendants of Captain Robert Samuel Barnes (1815-1865) my Great Grandfather who came to Texas from Tennessee in 1836. He was one of the original settlers of Milam/Bosque County, Texas and was killed January 1865 at the west Texas indian "Battle of Dove Creek". Also I am researching the family of William Johnston (1809-1900+) born in North Carolina, living at Whitfield County, GA (1850-1900) and the father of Jacob H. Johnston (1844-1903) my great grandfather.
