Genealogical Data File of Jane Taylor

My name is Jane Taylor. Through this page and the attached reports, I am providing information on the genealogical research which I have accumulated over the past several years. I am including information on both my father's side of the family as well as my mother's.
The TAYLOR FAMILY descends from THEOPHILUS and JEREMIAH TAYLOR, brothers born in Virginia. Jeremiah was born in 1758 and Theophilus in 1759. After moving to North Carolina, Theophilus served in the Revolutionary War. He married and settled in Franklin County, Georgia (now Stephens County).
My mother's family includes ancestors from the families of SHAW, ADAMS, CANNON, BLAIR, THOMPSON, NEWTON and WILLIS. JAMES CANNON, SR. was born before 1650 in Dorchester County, Maryland. One of his descendant's MINOS CANNON, SR. was born in 1757 and later served in the Revolutionary War. Minos Cannon married Letitia Thompson, daughter of ROBERT THOMPSON, who was killed at the Battle of Alamance, just prior to the beginning of the Revolutionary War. It is said that "his was the first blood shed for the rights of the American Colonies." Minos and Letitia's son, NEWTON CANNON, served as the Governor of Tennessee from 1835 to 1839. Newton, along with several of his brothers, served as officers in the Tennessee Militia in the War of 1812.
