Notes for W
ILLIAM TAYLOR:
Listing for In Virginia's Eastern Shore, Accomack County:
1662 Patent jointly to William Taylor and Bartholomew Mears for 500 acres which was bounded on the northeast by the Beaver Dam Branch of Sachipongo Creek. 1668 They divided it as follows: Taylor and his wife Elizabeth gave a deed to Mears for the 200 acres at the east end and Mears and his wife Mary deeded the 300-acres balance to Taylor.
1670 The Taylors sold their 300 acres to Edward Hitchens.
The several pages of land transactions that follow, tracing the various parcels of land mention transactions in 1789 to a Robert Taylor, in 1736 to John Taylor and his son John, in 1792 to Savage Taylor (a Francis Savage being mentioned in 1798) and Margaret Taylor, the wife of Thomas Mears. In 1792 Savage Taylor was mentioned with his wife Peggy. A Mears parcel was sold to a Charles W. Taylor in 1841.
While no relationship to any of the listed Taylors is evident, family lore and the appearance of marriages between the Mears and Taylors in this instance, and the later in the direct Taylor line, has linked this William Taylor to Henry 1 and his descendents.

Child of W
ILLIAM TAYLOR and ELIZABETH OSBOURNE is:
2. i.   WILLIAM R.2 TAYLOR, b. Abt. 1662, Accomac County, VA; d. 1697.
