1. Zachariah¹ Rhodes (Walter^A, Sir Geoffry^B) was born Abt. 1603 in Lancashire,England, and died October 11, 1665 in Pawtuxet, Warwick ,Rhode Island. He married Joanna Arnold Abt. 1646 in Providence , Rhode Island, daughter of William Arnold and Christian Peak. She was born February 27, 1617 in Somersetshire, England, and died February 11, 1692.

Zachariah Rhodes, was born in England in 1603 first of Reoboth . Later moved to Providence 7/3/1644,He with twenty nine others agreed to bind themselves together under a government of nine persons chosen from the inhabitants of Seacunk 8/21/1648 , he was one of a committee sent to Massachusetts , to ascertain the damage done to pomham of Warwicke and demand redress for him, he was one of those from pawtoye who asked to be dismissed from the Government of Ma, 6/1/1658. He was commissioner for several years in 1663 was appointed to treat with the Indians regarding a consideration for their lands, He was on the committee who run the boundary line between Rhode Island and Plymouth Colony also a deputy and town Counsellor. He was imprisoned a short time in jail in Boston for openly remarking "The court has naught to do in maters of Religion.
The Rhodes are a very ancient and respectable family of Norman extraction and the first one we come to in history is William De Rhodes who accompanied Richard 1 to Palestine in one of the Crusades.

	5	iv.	Zachariah Rhodes Jr.

	7	vi.	Elizabeth Rhodes.
	8	vii.	Mary Rhodes. She married John Low Bet. March 03, 1674 - 1675.
	9	viii.	Rebecca Rhodes, died Aft. June 12, 1725. She married (1) Nicholas Power. She married (2) Daniel Williams December 01, 1676; born February 1641.
	10	ix.	Freeman Rhodes.
