THE FOLLOWING COPY OF A PAPER IN THE GONZALES MUSEUM, GONZALES, TEXAS, WAS DISCOVERED THERE BY A DESCENDANT OF ROBERT TEDFORD, MRS. ROY PARKER, CUERO, TEXAS. IT WAS ONE PAPER IN A COLLECTION OF HOUSTONIA ITEMS:

"I DO CERTIFY THAT ROBERT TEDFORD ENTERED HIS FINE WAGON AND TEAM INTO THE SERVICE OF THE UNITED STATES ON THE 28TH OF FEBRUARY 1814 AND WAS ON THE 9TH OF JUNE 1814 DISCHARGED AND ALLOWED EIGHT DAYS TO RETURN HOME AND I DO FURTHER CERTIFY THAT THERE IS DUE HIM 6874 LBS. HAY AND 15 BUSHELS OF CORN. GIVEN UNDER MY HAND THIS 16TH DAY OF JULY 1814.

FINIS TEDFORD, Another son of Robert Tedford, second named of the sons of Captian John, was Finis, according to a letter from Mrs. Patie Tedford Bishop in 1945. Finis Tedford had sons John; Alwxander, who married a sister of the mother of Miss Callie Miller of Finger, Tennessee; William and Richard; and daughters Fay, Elizabeth, Duck and Grabella. They were first cousins of Callie Miller's father, Finis Miller, who was the son of Robert and Eliza Miller.
John Teford, son of Finis, had a son Barnie who lived in 1945 in Nashville.
Alexander, son of Finis, had eight children: Thomas, Henry, Kennel, Frank, Mary, Name, Maggie, and Leonia.

  Notes for JULIETTA MINERVA BURNEY:
John Milton Tedford died August 12,1853, as a result of a relapse of measles. In 1857 his widow, Julietta (Burney) Tedford and her seven children, along with her mother, Lydia (McCain) Burney, and her brothers, Hance, DeWitt, and Robert Burney, came to Texas. Their journey to Texas was made by boat down the Mississippi to New Orleans, and from there to old Indianola, or "Powderhorn" as it was sometimes called; thence by freight wagon to Kerr County where Julietta (Burney) Tedford and her children settled near the Guadalupe River between Ingram and Hunt, Texas. Julietta (Burney) Tedford died in 1899, is buried at Center Point, Texas. (This information from the Detty book, page 72)

JAMES TEDFORD, listed on page 91 of the 1850 Census McNairy County, Tennessee, was named by Mrs. Patie Tedford Bishop as one of the sons of Robert and Jane (White) Tedford. He was 40 years old, thus born in 1810, in Tennessee, and had a farm of 400 acres. His wife, named Sarah, was 37, and also born in Tennessee. They had eight children listed: Jane, 16; Alexander, 13; Elysa, 11; Elizabeth, 9; Gabrella, 7; William, 6; Lafrasha, (female), 5; and Robert four months old. Also named was Michael Shirley, aged 79, a farmer, born in Virginia. (Was he the father of Sarah, wife of James?) (This information from the Detty book, page 83.)

FELIX TEDFORD, was enumerated as 37 years of age, a farmer with 150 acres, born in Tennessee, married to a woman by the name of Juda, born in Georgia in 1814, 36 years of age. Felix was the father of George, Richard, William, Belle, and Lizzie.

Robert died October 29, 1868; Lucy, May 15, 1903, according to family records given by Mrs. Patie Tedford Bishop, granddaughter. They had ten children: John Crockett, Margaret Jane, Elenor Vinetta, William Voldee, Eunarcha Lee, Eliza Parlee, Sarah (Sallie) M, Laura Idell White, Robert Wright, Jefferson B. T..
