Monongalia County, WV - Peter Tennant Cemetery

  This is a reading of the Peter Tennant Cemetery, located just off County 
Road 25-5 in Monongalia County, WV.  The cemetery is located in a clearing
just to the right and can be seen from the road.  Although unfenced, the 
cemetery is well maintained.  Several of the graves are either unmarked or 
marked by a fieldstone with no inscription.

  The reading was taken on July 13, 2003 by Rick L Tennant.  Numbers in
parentheses following the given name refer to notes at the end of the listing
which provide further information.

NOTES
(1) Elizabeth was the daughter of Nimrod Tennant and Emelia Wilson.  Day
  of death was hard to read.  Other sources give the year of her death as
  1914.  Footstone also.
(2) Malinda was the daughter of Nimrod Tennant and Emelia Wilson.  
  Footstone with initials M T.
(3) Naomi was the daughter of Nimrod Tennant and Emelia Wilson.
(4) Emelia was the second wife of Nimrod Tennant.  She was the daughter
  of George P Wilson and Rebecca Kennett.
(5) Catharine was the first wife of Nimrod Tennant.  She was the daughter of
  Jacob J Moore and Anna Barbara Haught.  Stone is eroded leaving the 
  dates unreadable.
(6) Nimrod was the son of Peter Tennant and Elizabeth Brown.
(7) Peter Tennant was the son of Richard Tennant and Elizabeth Haught.  
  There are two headstones for Peter, and a footstone.  
(8) Elizabeth Brown was the daughter of Adam Brown and Roseanna Mouse.
  No day listed for birth
(9) This is believed to be the grave of the wife of Ben Ponzoo, Milly.
(10) Ben was the slave once owned by Peter Tennant.
