James Romanta Bentley (son of Alcaster Bentley and Rebecca R. Saunders) was born Bet. 1851 - 1853 in Perry, Pike Co., Illinois. He married C.M. Bentley.

Notes for James Romanta Bentley:
James Romantie Bentley worked as a watchman on the railroad. He would stuff the gasoline lamp with fresh cotton everyday and soak it with gasoline so that he could light it and wave it to signal the trains as to which track to use. He and Rebecca lived in Texarkana most of the time. I believe he may have been raised in Palestine, Texas.
