NOTES:

Most of these families came from Virginia and Maryland, through the Carolinas, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, and on to Arkansas and Oklahoma, and a few made it on west to Texas... However, don't exclude a possibility based on these locations... we all have a few ancestors who wondered off to parts unknown and became 'missing links', so pursuing the unlikely sometimes pay off.

The following are a few brief notes on ancestors from some of my family lines, especially as pertains to those surnames with many well researched, but unrelated, lines. These notes provide a few key names, dates, and locations, that might assist in determining whether or not you possibly share a connection. Generally, I have listed the first known ancestor for each of these lines, however, I have additional information on the generations from that point forward. TERRY: GGGG-Grandfather, (presumed)Wm. TERRY, Botetourt Co., VA, f/o GGG-Grandfather, Champness TERRY, f/o GG-Grandmother, Jo Anna TERRY JERNIGAN, d. Tippah Co., Mississippi, m/o Margaret Ann JERNIGAN ASHLEY b. 8 Feb. 1860, Wadesboro,Anson Co., NC, d. 26 June 1898, Searcy, White Co., Arkansas.

THAMES/TIMMS: GGG-Grandfather, Amos THAMES/TIMMS, b. bef. 1800, d. 23 May 1955 m. 12 Jan. 1807, in Cumberland Co., GA to Elizabeth PLUMMER, d. ca. 1877
