THARP - ALLENTHARP

I am researching the family tree for the THARP - ALLENTHARP family. Presently, the oldest member in the family tree is John A (Allen) Tharp, born in Bibb County, GA circa 1816. John moved the family across the South going through Mississippi to DeSoto Parrish, LA. where most of his children were born. At the time of the Civil War he moved the family into North East Texas and finally died in Denton County, TX. One of his sons, also John A (Allen) Tharp, settled in Roddy, Van Zandt County, TX. where he was a prominent and prosperous farmer. All of his sons became ministers of various faiths. His youngest son, the Reverend Simeon Stanley Allen Tharp was a popular and effective evangelist in several Assembly of God Churches, namely the Flatwood Assembly of God Church in Flatwood, TX, Barton's Chapel in Murchison, TX and the Maplewood Assembly of God Church in Dallas, TX, which today is known as Christian Life Catherdal.
