Cooper, Mallett, Smart connections

Research of the connections between Captain Simpson Cooper, and the family of my uncle James Henry Smart, continues in the background while I search for my own ancestors.

I am looking at the Chadwick and Greenwood families in Worsbrough Dale near Barnsley, the Hoskins and Thatcher families along the Devon and Dorset border around Axminster and Bridport, and the Green family around East London and Essex.

The Cooper / Smart trees are based on research by Mavis Audrey Pead, a descendant of Captain Cooper's grand-daughter Elizabeth. Elizabeth's sister Anna Maria Cooper married Henry Smart, my uncle's grandfather.

I acknowledge Mavis Pead's work on the large hand-drawn tree transcribed into this database.

My own Thatcher family may be seen in Robert Hoskins tree. Robert Hoskins was born abt 1798 in Dorset and had daughters Emily who married Henry Thatcher (my great-grandfather) in 1857, and Martha who married George Thatcher (Henry's brother) in 1864.

I also include family clusters that could be related to my Thatcher family, but I have not found the connection yet. Though not connected to my tree, clusters can be viewed through the List of Individuals and/or the Interne Tree.
