I am researching the Appelman family dating back to the late 1400's in The Netherlands. Johannes & Aafge Appelman emmigratedto the U.S. around 1880 and settled in the City of Chicago. We currently have relatives in Canada, The U.S. and The Netherlands. The Shinkonis (Shimkonis, Sinkonis, Simkonis) family originated in the Northern regions of Lithuania (Liskiavos, Vlkaviskis). Anthony & Josephine Shinkonis emmigrated to the U.S. around 1860, residing in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania, and finally settling in Detroit, Michigan. The Tharp family originated in England. Jacob & Nancy Tharp emmigrated to the U.S. before 1800, resided in Vermont, South Bend, Indiana, and settled in Chesterton, Indiana. The Wheeler family originated in Lynn, Mullingar, County Westmeath, Ireland. John Thomas Wheeler emmigrated to the U.S. in April of 1869, and settled in the City of Chicago, Illinois. The Davis family originated in Liverpool, England. John & Mary Davis emmigrated to New York, USA, around 1854, resided in New York City, and settled in Chicago, Illinois. |
