| The Cornetts and Shipleys were close-knit families living in the Appalachian region of southeast Kentucky and southwest Virginia. Any information that I have I am willing to share. I would appreciate any information, pictures, life details, etc. that are available. I have visited the hometowns of both Minta Cornett, my grandmother (Cumberland, Kentucky), and Robert L Shipley, my grandfather (Rose Hill, Virginia). I have located the resting place of my grandmother's parents (Sandhill Cemetery in Cumberland, Virginia), but was unable to locate the cemetery of my grandfather's parents (Bartley-Fee Cemtetery in Rose Hill, Virginia, which was somewhat disappointing. |
