Was a sailor in the British Navy , while his ship was on an extended visit in Newfoundland he meet a and fell in love with Maude Thistle. John (Jack) jumped ship went to Framingham Massachusetts worked with Nathaniel and Albert Thistle as a painter . Maude followed and married John..Never to go back to the Navy again.
