REV. ANDERSON BRIDGES
Anderson Bridges, b. ~ 1825, Kentucky.
The father of the following children is likely the Anderson Bridges (34), b. Kentucky that is found in the 1850 Census for Kentucky, living with Ennis (or Enus) Champ (36) and his wife Catherine Champ (30). Ennis was a farmer, and owned $4,000 in real estate, and Anderson was a laborer working for them, and could not read or write. All were born in Kentucky. There are two other Bridges in Kenton County. Both are white, and I did not find a Richard, who is the other witness to the marriage of Paul Warrick and Mary Eliza Bridges.
I have to presume that this Anderson Bridges is later the father of Mary Eliza (Bridges) Warrick. So he must have had a great deal of respect for this family that he lived with and worked for – certainly enough that his daughter Mary Eliza would name one son after him!
Who he married and when is not yet clear, but he must have married after 1850 and prior to 1855, as son Henry was born about 1855. We might wonder if after his marriage he continued to live on the Champ farm. I will have to check the 1860 Census to see if we can figure out more.
