1. FREDERICK A¹ THRONBURGH was born Abt. 1819 in Newton, (Catawba County) North Carolina, and died February 13, 1859 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery Startown (Conover, NC.). He married ADELINE POOVEY, daughter of CONRAD POOVEY and SARAH MOOSE. She was born January 12, 1828 in Hickory, North Carolina, and died November 26, 1901 in Newton, North Carolina (Old St. Pauls Lutheran Church).

Notes for FREDERICK A THRONBURGH:
Fredrick was Sheriff of Catawba County and was murdered on his front Poarch at age of 40.
His grave is marked.."in this grave lies the body that was murdered by R. Rinehart---------.

Records indicate that Fredrick could have been previously married to Catherine P. Thronburgh who
died at the age of 30 yr. If this is true the following would have been their children:

George B.F. Thronburgh (Died November 1, 1849) Age 10 Mo old.
Lenord P. Thronburgh (Died July 23, 1853) Age 2-yrs. old.
Catherine P. Thronburgh (Died August 9, 1846) Age 30-yrs. old

Notes for ADELINE POOVEY:

After her husbands (Fredrick) death, Adeline stayed on the family farm. Wallace, her son and his family moved in with Adeline.
Adeline continued to be head of the household and took in washing to help support the family.
The last we see of Adeline was on page #218-A of the 1900 census of Newton Township, Catawba County, where she was still running the family farm.
