84th year. Beloved husband
of the late Doris V. (Barons)
McNeil (2000). Dear brother
to Alex McNeil and wife
Evelyn of Lyons and Dora
Wiltsie and husband Frank
of Aylmer. He will be sadly
missed by a number of nieces,
nephews and cousins. Predeceased
by a brother Russell and a sister
Eileen. Born in South Dorchester
Township on January 15, 1920 son of
the late Hugh and Mabel Adelia
(Bancroft) McNei l . He was a lifelong
resident and farmer at R.R. #2,
Springfield. Ron was MPP at Queens
Park representing Elgin County from
1958-87 and he was Parliamentary
Assistant to the Minister of
Agricul ture and Food from 1977-85.
In 1952, he was Warden of Elgin
county, Reeve of south Dorchester
Township from 1949-52 and served
on South Dorchester Township
Council from 1946-49. Ron was a
member of the Aylmer I .O.O.F. Lodge
#94, Springfield Masonic Lodge #259,
the London Lodge of Perfection,
Moore Sovereign Consistory in
Hamilton, Mocha Temple and the
Aylmer and Tillsonburg Shrine Clubs.
He received the Queen's Jubilee in
2002 and was inducted into the Elgin
County Agricul tural Hall of Fame in
2003. Friends may call at the H.A.
Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on
Wednesday 7-9 and Thursday 2-4 and
7-9 p.m. where the funeral service
will be held on Friday, March 21,
2003 at 1:30 p.m. Cremation will
follow with interment of ashes in the
Necropolis Cemetery. Rev. Janess
and Rev. Roger Landell officiating.
Donations to the Shriner's Hospital
for Crippled Children would be
appreciated. Masonic Service
Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
