Copies of the records are in the possession of the writer.
The 1880 Federal Census lists James R. Cole at age 19 living in Dover Township, Union County, Ohio in the household headed by Christina Cole age 41. Christina has three sons living with her: James, Abram Cole, age 16, and William Harriot, age 10. James' occupation is listed as farmer while Abram's occupation is given as farm work.
