Notes for Ida Catharine Bruner: According to an obituary in the surname files of the Logan County Genealogical Society, Ida died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harley Shaffer, six miles south of West Liberty where she had resided for 21 years. She had been an invalid for more than two years and bedfast for ten weeks prior to her death. She was survived by two daughters, Mrs. Shaffer and Mary Miller of Columbus; three sons, J. P. Coleman of near West Liberty, W. S. Coleman of Iowa, and Claude Coleman of Urbana; two brothers, S.W. Bruner of Dialton, and Claude Bruner of Flushing; and three sisters, Mrs. S. E. Lipse or Springfield, Mrs. L. K. Botkin of North Hampton, and Mrs. J. L. Abbott of Cleveland. According to another obituary in the same files, the pal bearers were grandsons Robert, Russell, and Harold Shaffer and Gibert, Ralph, and Robert Coleman. Three grandchildren from a distance attending the service were Mrs. Opal Burris of Highland Park Illinois, Mrs. Betty Dannaker of Alabama City, Alabama, and George Shaffer of Camp Wallace at Houston, Texas.
