"WILLIAM FEATHERSTONE, 200a, Pr. George Co., both sides Beaver Sw. adj.Charles Howell, George Still, Standly & Bear Sw. 22 Sep. 1739."
Virginia Land Patent Book 18;

"WILLIAM FEATHERSTONE, 400a, Pr. George Co., lower side of Nammissen Cr.adj. Robert Bolling, Wigg Island Br. & George's Br. (p. 490). 22 Sep.1739."
William Lindsay Hopkins, "Virginia Land Patent Book 18; pgs. 1-286(1738-1739)," The Virginia Genealogist Vol. 25, No. 1, Feb. 1987.

"WILLIAM FEATHERSTONE, the Younger, 150a, Amelia Co., on the heads ofWoody Cr. of Deep Cr. adj. Charles Irby & Christopher Robertson (p. 50).20 Jul 1738.
Note this source refers to William as "the Younger" therefore, we canassume, there was a WILLIAM FEATHERSTONE, the Elder (presumably WilliamII or William I) ---Based on patent date, it appears that this WilliamFeatherstone, "the Younger" was in reality William Featherstone,III--Since William Featherstone, II supposedly died c. 1718 (the one thatwas married to Catharine Neal)--DFL
Virginia Land Patent Book 19;

"WILLIAM FEATHERSTONE, JR., 321a, Pr. George Co., lower side White OakSw. adj. Robert West (p. 581) Hugh Reece, Cabbin Br. 12 Mar 1739.
Per Reata McNutt of Charleston, Illinois, a fellow Branch 5 contributor:

"William Featherstone, Jr. in VA by 1726, Amelia County. Married 1810 inVA."
Featherstone Line of Mrs. Jordan Fischler; 303 Bradley Avenue, Rockville,Maryland:

"William Featherston, son of William Featherston, the Elder.~~ His willdated 8/2/1767 and probated in Amelia Co., Va. 4/27/1769 names sons;William Grigg Featherston, Burwell Featherston, Lewis Featherston,Richard Featherston, Jesse Featherston, Charles Howell Featherston, anddaughters Lucy Vaughan, Frances Stell, Elizabeth Featherston (marriedLewis Clark), and Suannah Featherston. One writer asserts that his wifewas Susannah Grigg (born 6/11/1720), daughter of William Grigg and SusanLockett Grigg.

~~DFL Note: There is general confusion across the board as to whichWilliam was known as "the Elder" some researchers refer to William II as"the Elder" some as William I as "the Elder." (In this case, Mrs.Fischler appears to be providing information about William III, (the sonof William II who was the son of William I "The Elder") based on thechildren listed for this William and the reference to Susannah Grigg, aswell as the date of death for William (4/27/1769).~~
Amelia County, Virginia Deed Book 1 & 2, 1735-1747 provides the following:

"Deed. WILLIAM FEATHERSTON, the younger, to TIMOTHY MURRIL. D. (dated)Mar. 21 1739. Consid: 1600 pounds of tobacco. Wit: None. 150 acreson head of Woody Creek of Deep Creek adj. lines of Christopher Roberston& Charles Irby, being land pat. to sd. William Featherston on July 20,1738."
