The Thompson, Thornton, Franck, & Sober Families of Virginia

Thompson, Sober, Snow, Bennett, Marsh, Fortney, Franck, Thornton, Carter, Ross, Gooch, Snead, Blackburn, Leake, Adams, and Hughes. PLEASE HELP WITH INFORMATION ON THE FOLLOWING PEOPLE:*Nathaniel H. Thornton (ca.1819- Dec. 1861) and wife Surilda - of Brush Valley, Bienville Parish, Louisiana. They lived with a brother Yancey Thornton & his wife Nancy (1850 Census). Nathaniel & Surilda had the following children: William Thornton, (b.1843); Joel Thornton (ca,1847); James Thornton (ca 1849); and Winnie N. Thornton (ca.1845). Nathaniel & son William both enlisted, CSA, Company H, 9th La. Inf."Brush Valley Guards". *Permelia Carter (Dec 18, 1802- ? ). The only child of her mother. Her 1/2 siblings were: Elizabeth Carter (b.9/18/1805), Henry Carter (b.3/6/1807), Joel Carter (b.1/9/1808), and John Carter (b.9/1/1809). The family moved from Buckinham Co, VA to Bedford Co., VA ca.1815. Her grandparents were said to be Peter Carter & Mary Ann Ellis of Amherst Co., VA.
